DESCRIPTION

This 1995 X-412 can be appealing for the sportive sailor that also want to have a perfect cruising yacht, considering that is configured for twin handed cruiser racing and family sailing. She designed by Niels Jeppesen, one of the three founders of the company, and is called as the most beautiful and elegant X-Yacht ever! The large number of boats they sold, prove that many sailors agree with them. The model was introduced in 1990 and updated to Mk II in 1994. It is still going strong and looking great today, as it is served annually by the same excellent technician for all this year. The values of she, are quality in design, construction and fittings, and a commitment to sailing performance in terms of both speed and comfort at sea. Construction uses solid GRP around the keel, engine and rudder areas, E-glass/foam core sandwich in the hull and deck and a galvanised steel structural grid to support rig and keel loads. The mast is keel-stepped and the emphasis is on achieving a strong and stiff hull of moderate displacement. The weight is concentrated out of the ends where possible for the sake of performance and pleasant behaviour at sea. The X-412 continues to offer a very attractive package for sailors who like to race but also want the option of comfortable cruising with family and friends. Yachting Monthly Magazine tested a 1998 example of the X-412 in their October 2010 edition and gave the yacht one of the highest ever overall test scores – 91 out of 100. Highlights of the test included: - "A wolf in wolf's clothing. From her rakish bow to the magnificent sheer line aft, from her tall rig to her low aspect coachroof, she is a thoroughbred sailing machine."
